Rasmussen poll - Republican Candidates for 2008

Sun Dec 10, 2006 at 05:10:46 PM PDT

The other night I received a robo-poll call from Rasmussen Reports.  This is the first time I've been polled by Rasmussen, so I thought I would make note of the questions they asked.  I attempted to write down all of the questions verbatim, but I'm sure there are some innaccuracies.

The poll started with some demographic questions, including my age, gender, party affiliation and voting history (Do you vote in every election?  Most?  Some?).  They then asked my impression of George Bush, ranked from strongly favorable/to strongly unfavorable.  When asked if I am Dem or Repub, I answered Repub, hoping to add weight to my negative impression of Bush.

From that point on many of the questions had to do with potential Repub candidates for the 2008 presidential election.  To me, this was the most interesting part of the poll, as it gave me some insight into what the party muckety-mucks are thinking (or at least polling on).  The poll might have a different set of questions for Dems vs. Repubs, because the wording of the questions seemed to assume that I would be voting in the Repub primaries.  Join me beyond the break to see the rest of the questions.

Bandar Bush resigns [w/ poll]

Wed Jul 20, 2005 at 10:23:05 AM PDT

As Ambassador to the US, to be replaced by his cousin Prince Turki al-Faisal.  al-Faisal has been suspected of funding Osama Bin Laden and supporting the Taliban, and is the former head of Saudi Intelligence and currently is envoy to the UK.  He resigned from the intelligence post one month before 9/11, leading some to speculate that he had advance knowledge of the attack.  He spoke out against going to war in Iraq without full UN authorization, and has made comments critical of Bush administration prosecution of the war and aftermath.

LTE: SF Gate slanders and lies on Schiavo case

Fri Mar 25, 2005 at 04:59:23 PM PDT

I couldn't find another diary on this, but I came across this article on SF Gate:

Napa foundation donates to attorney of Terri Schiavo's parents

and it just made my blood boil at its glib lies and slander, so much that I had to write my first ever diary.  The article is about a how a conservative, anti-abortion legal foundation has been funding the Schindler's for 4 years, and yet the words "conservative" and "anti-abortion don't appear in the article!

More after the break, including my LTE:
