For those of you close enough to hear (or far away, but still care), Canada's minority government has recently fallen on a vote of non-confidence. As a result, the next 60 days will not only be a time of frantic christmas shopping, but also frantic sloganeering on the part of our prospective elected representives.

However, there's a serious threat to the fabric of the country. His name is Stephen Harper, he's the leader of the new Conservative party, and he shares the same philosophical foundation as Bush and many of his junta: they're adherents to the teachings of Leo Strauss.

This is my first song parody ever. I was just sitting here working and scrolling through my music list on winamp, when I came across my 80s selection.

The whole song came in a flash, literally within 10 minutes, with a couple more to work out the meter. I hope you enjoy it. ;)

I, like many here, find myself being drawn into what I'll describe as 'heated discussions' regarding the current political climate and how things have degenerated. I'm pretty good at thinking on my feet and utilizing logic and rhetoric to effect, but nothing is as compelling as a person who can make a case based on logic AND emotion, backed by facts.

The problem is, sometimes the facts are hard to come by, which is why I'm writing this diary. More below...
